THEIR ORIGINS EXPLAINED

MAITLAND MOBILISATIONS: This is a gentle physiotherapy technique, formulated by Geoffery  Maitland who was awarded an MBE for this work. It gently frees the facet joints of the spine and peripheral joints  including the rib joints.

NEURAL ORGANISATION TECHNIQUE: This is a chiropractic /kinesiology technique.

CONNECTIVE TISSUE MANIPULATION: This is a technique used widely in Europe and the USA. It was formulated in physiotherapy in Germany. However it was banned during the second World War in England except in the Leeds School of Physiotherapy where its outraged Principal said ‘ over my dead body’ to MI5. It was re-instated in the curriculum ,largely due to Prof Norma Brooke, Former Professor of Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University.
